EB Riding Tip:

Cornering tip: To develop solid cornering skills for moderate to high speed flat corners, try rotating your torso to look into the desired direction of your turn with 'all 3 eyes'. As you increase speed, get lower and lower to keep a low centre of gravity, to be able to lean the bike over farther to gain traction and maintain momentum! Have fun!

Present and Future Volunteers – Thank You!

Posted: May 27, 2009

A big thanks to all of the volunteers that came out and made the North Shore Bike Fest a huge success this past weekend. Starting early every morning and ending with a few cold ones every night, the volunteers were there lending their helping hand. Everyone at EB would like to thank you for all of your blood, sweat and tears. Without your help, this event might have killed DB!

Volunteering is a great way to expose yourself to the North Shore riding community and culture. As a volunteer you will have the opportunity to work with real businesses who have made the North Shore and cycling their lives. From B.C. Bike Race to NSMBA Trail Days, people of all ages and riding abilities can volunteer and make a difference.

Endless Biking is looking for volunteers for events this summer starting with the B.C. Bike race. If you are not familiar with the BCBR, check out the website. www.bcbikerace.com. This epic seven day mountain bike stage race is starting in our back yard, the North Shore, and we are the day one hosts. As a volunteer you will work directly with racers and events staff to make sure everything runs smooth. If you are interested in seeing the latest racing gear, enjoy spending sunny afternoons in the woods or are looking for volunteer hours for school, this event is for you!

To volunteer for the BCBR and other events this summer, shoot a quick email to volunteer@endlessbiking.com. I would like to thank all present and future volunteers for all their hard work. Get involved in your community and volunteer!

Learning is endless…

Training for the BC Bike Race

Posted: May 16, 2009

Training for the BC Bike race is really just a great excuse to get out on your bike and RIDE!!! Not only does it get you familiar with new routes that you have never linked up before, but you get to experience new vistas, and get fit at the same time. That’s not wrong!!!

I have done most of my training with my team-mate and work-mate, Rick Loader. We have gone on epics from the EB headquarters to SFU and throughout the North Shore mountains, trying to get as much mileage in as possible.

We did the BC Bike Race last year, and had such an amazing experience that we are doing it again. Yeah it’s hard, but worth the reward, like anything. I will never forget a moment on my bike during the race last year when I said to myself in the midst of an epic day, surrounded by new vistas, good people and single-track, “Wow… I love my life”.

Our goal this year, much like last year, is to be help others when the opportunity arises. We will have packs with tools, a good positive team attitude and tips for who ever want or need it. We will always try to smile and never take ourselves too seriously. It’s about an experience.

More updates to come… June 28th is approaching quickly. Must ride more..

chow for now.. :)
