EB Riding Tip:

Cornering tip: To develop solid cornering skills for moderate to high speed flat corners, try rotating your torso to look into the desired direction of your turn with 'all 3 eyes'. As you increase speed, get lower and lower to keep a low centre of gravity, to be able to lean the bike over farther to gain traction and maintain momentum! Have fun!

Interested in becoming a Mountain Bike Instructor? We will lead you through the essentials of breaking down the fundamental skills necessary to teach and guide a range of levels of riders in a very clear, concise and step by step manner.

Level 1:
Suitable for strong riders with a desire to gain instructing training, knowledge and experience. Interest or experience in teaching or leading club rides is an asset.  The program starts with an evening of theory, understanding the role of an instructor, industry standards, risk management as well as teaching and learning theories and strategies. The following two days are on bike with a focus on teaching practice to become a better instructor, outlining each skill’s teaching points, correct demonstrations, how to observe skills and assess riders and group management practices.  Level 1 is the foundation you will build from as an Instructor & Guide and it will give you great guidance & direction.

Level 2:
Prerequisite: MBIT Level 1.

Focus is on fine-tuning teaching techniques learned in Level 1, observation analysis, on-trail teaching environments and level 2 skills, which include: Advanced operations of control, advanced cornering, intermediate to advanced wheel lifts, pressure control dynamics, drops, an introduction to jumping, line-selection and other trail obstacles & tactics.  There is a great amount of focus on observation and correction techniques throughout this course, learning the art of teaching drops, as well as several ‘on-trail’ components.  A fast paced program that will get you prepared for any work in the industry.
