SESSION #1 Overview

Focus: Balance & Stability, Operation of Controls, Climbing & Descending

Details: We’ll begin with a bike check & introductions, before building some key foundational skills within the lower Seymour trail network. This session will use a mix of gravel paths & green trails with opportunities to session features and dial in skills.

This session is designed to build up your foundation and understanding of key concepts for the whole program!

How to get there:

  • Drive & park near Parkgate Park
  • If renting a bike, ride from our shop (30min)

SESSION #2 Overview

Focus: Direction Control, Pressure Control.

Details: This class is designed to help you find your flow through corners.

You’ll apply key concepts learned in session #1 & learn how to corner with finesse. You’ll ride away with a number of skills that will be useful on every single ride.

How to get there:

  • Drive & park on Coleman St or Mt. Highway. Please Note Mt. Fromme gate closure times & limited parking in the parking lot.
  • Take #210 bus to McNair Drive then pedal up Mountain Highway to start

SESSION #3 Overview

Focus: Terrain Awareness, Timing & Coordination

Details: This session is all about building on from Session #1 & #2 & further developing tactics for riding with more flow on technical ups & downs.

Learn the value of good Terrain Awareness and how to utilize it to improve your ride, carry flow & have more #googtimesonbikes. Using terrain on lower Seymour, we'll challenge you with fun and exciting lines both up and down the mountain.

How to get there:

  • Drive & park on Sechelt Dr, then ride to start. Possible parking restrictions on Berkley Ave & Hyannis Drive
  • Take #214 bus to Blueridge

SESSION #4 Overview

Focus: Putting it all together & mastering roll-downs.

Details: Using the lower fromme trails, we’ll ride roll-downs in a variety of ways and learn to control our bikes at faster speeds over stepped roots and rocks.

While this session does not teach the techniques to ride drops, by the end of this ride you'll have all the knowledge to safely progress onto getting two wheels off the ground in a private lesson or Advanced Skills Session.

We’ll pull together all skills learnt throughout the program & end on a high!

How to get there:

  • Drive & park on Braemar Rd between Princess Ave and Regent Ave. Please Note there is limited parking near the Start/End location.
  • Take #232 bus to 15th and Lonsdale Ave, transfer to the #230 bus to Princess Ave @ 3800 Block. Pedal to starting location via the gravel powerline trail.
